Mission, Vision & Values

Mission & Vision

Mission: Our ultimate goal is to be the financial equalizer for people and businesses worldwide.
Vision: We do this by building decentralized finance products and blockchain infrastructure that guarantee censorship resistance and worldwide access to yield-bearing financial instruments for everyone.

Product Principles

Underpinning all product development in Mean DAO is something we call SUP, as in “‘sup dude!” 😋
  1. 1.
Security: We handle digital assets. Security and auditing are first-class citizens here.
  2. 2.
Usability: Batteries included; it just works; as easy as apple pie; no manual needed.
  3. 3.
Privacy: No authority or control is set over our users. Self-custody is the standard.
We focus really hard on making sure our products meet these principles with equal weight from the moment they are thought out, designed, built, and all the way onto their delivery.

Core Values

These 10 core values are things we live by in our day2day. Being a member of Mean DAO means you are defending them and leading by example on each and every one of these core values with your colleagues, yourself, and the world.
#1, #2 and #3 are all the same: TRUST & LOYALTY FIRST
You get one chance. Do not fuck it up. You are given the opportunity of a lifetime, and we expect you to live by it. With us, it’s all or nothing.
#4. DO GOOD. ALWAYS
We work with people and organizations that have a vested interest in the betterment of their communities and humanity as a whole. We have a zero-tolerance policy for shady businesses.
#5. BE PASSIONATELY CURIOUS
We are never done learning and always seek to improve ourselves. We are curious about new possibilities and act on them. Audit often and be skeptical when metrics and anecdote differ.
#6. DELIVER WITH EXCELLENCE
Delivering excellence means leading relentlessly with unreasonably high standards. Thinking small and settling for average is a self-fulfilling prophecy. High-Performance work yields 10x better results than average work. Be a role model and demand excellence from yourself first.
#7. DO MORE WITH LESS
A small leak can sink a great ship. Constraints breed resourcefulness, self-sufficiency, and invention. There are no extra points for growing headcount, budget size, or fixed expenses.
#8. MASTERFUL COMMUNICATION
Data wins arguments. No politics. Listen, acknowledge, and validate before speaking. But also have the courage to say what you think, even if it is controversial. Be ready to show data to back up your claims. Leaders demonstrate and assume positive intent with tenacity, conviction and data to back it up.
#9. HAVE A BIAS FOR ACTION
Speed matters in business. See something broken? Let’s fix it. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need extensive study. We see one’s ability to evaluate calculated risk as one of the most valuable talents to possess.
#10. OWN IT
We trust each other to take the lead. Leaders are owners who think long-term and don’t sacrifice value for short-term results. We act on behalf of the organization, beyond ourselves and our immediate circle. No task is beneath us.
